For those with more Christian tastes, the so-called experts at Wikipedia have an article about Hummus.

Hummus is a sort of jam made from chickpeas. It resembles cream mixed with concrete dust, and is said by some to taste like it as well. In it people generally dip bread, meat, vegetables, and even nachos. Hummus is a product of the Arab World, as is crude oil, which the yellow juice surrounding Hummus is sometimes said to be. Hummus maintains a cult following on the internets among people of Semitic origin, and mention of which is often accompanied by the most incredibly funny phrase "Hummus is Yummus".
